Application scenarios

  1. On/off and throttling service for gas or liquid media

The HP112 double-eccentric butterfly valve can be used for opening, closing, and throttling gas or liquid media in pipeline applications requiring frequent operation.

  2. On/off and throttling service for high-temperature media

For high-temperature media control applications up to 600°C, the HP112 can be fitted with an Inconel metal seal for on/off or throttling service.

  3. Valve control in pipelines requiring fire-safe performance

For pipeline control applications requiring fire-safe sealing, the HP112 can use a PTFE/Inconel fire-safe design for on/off or throttling service and complies with BS 6755 Part 2 and API 607 5th Edition fire-safe standards.

  4. Valve control in vacuum systems

The HP112 can be used for media control in vacuum systems, down to an absolute pressure of 1 mbar.

Selection points

  1. Double-eccentric design for high-frequency operation

The valve features a double-eccentric design and is specified for long-term use in high-frequency operating conditions, with a maintenance-free design.

  2. Three sealing systems and corresponding temperature ranges

Available with R-PTFE soft seal, Inconel metal seal, and PTFE/Inconel fire-safe design. R-PTFE is rated up to 230°C, Inconel up to 600°C, and the fire-safe design up to 200°C.

  3. Leakage rates by sealing system

The R-PTFE soft seal complies with EN 12266 Leakage rate A; the Inconel metal seal complies with EN 12266 Leakage rate B and ISO 5208 Category 3.

  4. Positive pressure and vacuum operating ranges

Maximum operating pressure is 40 bar for DN150 and below, and 25 bar above DN150; vacuum applications are supported down to an absolute pressure of 1 mbar.

  5. Compatibility with multiple flange connection standards

Supports EN 1092 PN 10/16/25/40, ASME Class 150 and Class 300, and AS 4087 PN 16/21 flange connection standards; flange facings support EN 1092 Form A/B and ASME RF, FF.

FAQ

What media and control duties is the HP112 high-performance butterfly valve suitable for?

The HP112 is suitable for gas or liquid media and can be used for pipeline on/off control or throttling control. Its double-eccentric design is suitable for applications requiring higher operating frequency and enables long-term operation under frequent cycling conditions.

How should the HP112 sealing system be selected according to temperature conditions?

The HP112 is available with an R-PTFE soft seal, an Inconel metal seal, and a fire-safe design (PTFE/Inconel). The maximum applicable temperature is 230°C for the R-PTFE soft seal, 600°C for the Inconel metal seal, and 200°C for the fire-safe design. The overall valve operating temperature range is -60°C to +600°C, and selection should consider the upper temperature limit of the selected sealing system.

What is the difference in leakage rate between the HP112 soft seal and Inconel metal seal?

The R-PTFE soft seal complies with EN 12266 Leakage rate A. The Inconel metal seal complies with EN 12266 Leakage rate B and ISO 5208 Category 3. The sealing type should be selected according to system requirements for sealing performance, temperature range, and operating conditions.

What is the operating pressure of the HP112 for different sizes?

The maximum operating pressure of the HP112 is 40 bar for sizes DN 150 and below, and 25 bar for sizes above DN 150. Nominal diameters range from DN 80 to DN 600.

Can the HP112 be used in vacuum and fire-safe applications?

The HP112 can be used in vacuum applications down to an absolute pressure of 1 mbar. With the fire-safe design (PTFE/Inconel), the valve complies with BS 6755 Part 2 and API 607 5th Edition fire-safe standards, and the maximum operating temperature for the fire-safe design is 200°C.
