MEG Manual Gear Actuator | Neles Easyflow

Quarter-turn worm gear actuator for manual valve opening and closing.

Category
Actuators

The Neles Easyflow MEG Series manual gear actuator uses a handwheel-operated quarter-turn worm gear mechanism. It delivers high efficiency and higher output torque.

Installation notes

  1. Comply with the Actuator Torque Range

During installation, commissioning and operation, ensure that the torque required by the paired valve remains within the specified torque range of the MEG Series. Do not exceed the permitted input and output torque for the corresponding size to prevent damage to the actuator or valve drive components.

FAQ

How does the Neles Easyflow MEG Series operate valves with a handwheel?

The MEG Series uses a handwheel-driven quarter-turn worm gear mechanism to provide high output torque through gear transmission. The gears offer high efficiency and self-locking performance. Adjustable travel stops are provided at both the open and closed positions, together with a high-visibility position indicator pointer to help operators identify the valve position.

Which torque, temperature and connection conditions should be checked when selecting a MEG Series manual gear actuator?

When selecting the actuator, check the required output torque, operating temperature, and mounting and drive connection types. The MEG Series provides an output torque range of 225-8500 Nm and a standard temperature range of -20°C to +85°C. It uses an ISO 5211 mounting interface and is available with a square or keyed drive connection. The series features a modular, preconfigured design and must be matched to the appropriate torque range and connection type.

What are the housing and protection features of the MEG Series?

The MEG Series features a cast iron housing with internal metal gears and bearings. Its fully enclosed, weatherproof design provides IP65 protection, while the external polyurethane coating provides corrosion protection.

What maintenance and operating accessory configurations are available for the MEG Series?

The MEG Series is factory lubricated for its entire service life and requires minimal maintenance. Operating accessories include an optional padlock flange and chainwheel, which can be included in the operating configuration requirements during selection.

Which industrial applications are suitable for MEG Series manual gear actuators?

The MEG Series is suitable for water supply and wastewater treatment, sewage treatment, mining, fuel and gas, cooling water or chilled water circuits, seawater desalination, and HVAC applications. It is also suitable for cement and other fine powders, mildly corrosive chemicals, and petrochemical applications.
