Selection points

  1. Two-piece valve body with double sealing

The J9 Series features a robust two-piece valve body with a double-sealing design.

  2. Long cycle life and easy maintenance

The J9 Series provides a long cycle life and incorporates a maintenance-friendly design.

  3. Compatible actuators available

The J9 Series can be equipped with Neles actuators, enabling a single-source valve automation configuration.

Installation notes

  1. Keep the valve fully open during flushing

Clean and flush the piping before installation. Keep the valve fully open during system flushing or blowing before commissioning to prevent impurities such as sand particles and welding slag from damaging the ball and seat sealing surfaces.

  2. Inspect and replace seals during disassembly and maintenance

During valve disassembly and maintenance, inspect the ball, stem, and sealing areas. Replace the seats and seals as required to prevent leakage caused by seal aging or damage to the sealing surfaces.

FAQ

What sizing ranges are available for the J9 Series in terms of nominal size, pressure class, and flange connection standards?

The J9 Series is a full-port flanged floating ball valve with nominal sizes ranging from DN15 to DN200 (NPS 1/2 to 8). Pressure classes include Class 150 and Class 300. Flange compatibility is based on ASME B16.5, and face-to-face dimensions comply with ASME B16.10. Selection can be based on the pipe nominal size, required pressure class, and connection dimensional requirements.

How does the J9 Series combine low operating torque with shutoff performance under pressure and temperature cycling?

The J9 Series uses a low-torque seat design to achieve bubble-tight shutoff during pressure and temperature cycling. A highly precise drive interface between the stem and ball ensures accurate and repeatable shutoff and control performance. Leakage performance is rated as no visible leakage.

What manual operating options and actuator mounting methods are supported by the J9 Series?

The J9 Series is equipped with an ISO 5211 mounting platform for direct installation of a handle, gear operator, manual override, or actuator. A lockable handle is also available. The series can be equipped with Neles actuators, switches, and controllers, providing compatible options for valve operation and control components.

What design features does the J9 Series provide for stem safety, electrostatic grounding, and maintenance requirements?

The J9 Series uses an internally inserted, blowout-proof stem design and incorporates anti-static grounding between the ball and stem and between the stem and valve body. The stem sealing arrangement with preloaded springs requires minimal maintenance, provides a long cycle life, and delivers low emissions. The two-piece valve body features a double-sealing design.

What options are available with the J9 Series when valve cavity media retention needs to be minimized?

The J9 Series can be fitted with an optional valve cavity filler to reduce media retention in the valve cavity. For applications where residual media in the valve cavity is a concern, this optional configuration can be included in the specification. It is not a standard configuration for all valves in the series.
