Application scenarios

  1. On/off and control of gas or liquid media

For switching or modulating control of gas or liquid media in pipelines. The double eccentric design can be fitted with an R-PTFE soft seat or an Inconel metal seat depending on operating conditions, covering an operating temperature range of -10°C to +450°C. The applicable pressure conditions must be determined from the corresponding temperature/pressure rating curves.

  2. Metal-sealed on/off and control of high-temperature process media

In high-temperature gas or liquid process pipelines, the Inconel metal seat can be selected for on/off or control duty, with a maximum operating temperature of 450°C. The metal seat leakage class complies with EN 12266 Leakage rate B and ISO 5208 Category 3.

  3. Fire-safe isolation and control in high fire-risk process lines

For process pipelines with specific fire-safety requirements for valves. The PTFE/Inconel fire-safe seat configuration has a maximum operating temperature of 200°C and complies with the BS 6755 Part 2 and API 607 5th Edition fire-safe standards.

  4. Vacuum systems and low-pressure process pipelines

For on/off and control of gas or liquid media in vacuum systems or low-pressure process pipelines, with vacuum capability down to 1 mbar absolute pressure.

Selection points

  1. Double eccentric design

The HP111-E features a double eccentric design.

  2. R-PTFE and Inconel sealing systems with temperature capability

The HP111-E is available with an R-PTFE soft seat or an Inconel metal seat. The R-PTFE soft seat is rated up to 230°C with EN 12266 Leakage rate A; the Inconel metal seat is rated up to 450°C with EN 12266 Leakage rate B and ISO 5208 Category 3.

  3. Multi-standard flange connection compatibility

The HP111-E supports ASME Class 150 and AS 4087 PN 16/21 flange connection standards and matches ASME RF and FF flange sealing faces.

  4. Vacuum capability

The HP111-E is suitable for vacuum service down to 1 mbar absolute pressure.

  5. Fire-safe configuration and applicable temperature

The HP111-E is available with a PTFE/Inconel fire-safe configuration rated up to 200°C, complying with BS 6755 Part 2 and API 607 5th Edition.

  6. Standardized actuator mounting interface

The actuator mounting interface of the HP111-E complies with EN ISO 5211.

FAQ

Which media and control modes is the HP111-E high performance butterfly valve suitable for?

The HP111-E can be used for on/off control or modulating control of gas or liquid media. Its double eccentric design is suitable for industrial pipelines that require both shut-off and control performance.

How to choose between the R-PTFE soft seat and the Inconel metal seat for the HP111-E?

The R-PTFE soft seat is rated up to 230°C with leakage class EN 12266 Leakage rate A; the Inconel metal seat is rated up to 450°C with leakage classes EN 12266 Leakage rate B and ISO 5208 Category 3. Selection should be based primarily on the media, operating temperature and required leakage class.

Can the HP111-E be used in high-temperature or fire-safe applications?

Yes. With the Inconel metal seat, the HP111-E offers a maximum operating temperature of 450°C. The fire-safe version uses a PTFE/Inconel seat combination rated up to 200°C and complies with BS 6755 Part 2 and API 607 5th Edition fire-safe standards.

Which standards apply to the flange connections and actuator mounting interface of the HP111-E?

The valve can be fitted with EN 1092 PN 10/16, ASME Class 150 or AS 4087 PN 16/21 flange connections and suits EN 1092 Form A/B as well as ASME RF and FF flange sealing faces. The actuator mounting interface complies with EN ISO 5211, and face-to-face dimensions comply with EN 558 Series 20, ISO 5752 Series 20 and API 609 Table 1.

Is the HP111-E suitable for vacuum systems, and does it require frequent maintenance?

The HP111-E is suitable for vacuum applications down to 1 mbar absolute pressure. The valve features a maintenance-free design for long-term operation even under high-frequency duty; the actual operating pressure must be confirmed against the applicable temperature/pressure rating curves.
